This instrument is mainly used for the research of anti collapse mud and treatment agents. It can accurately measure the expansion amount and expansion rate of shale samples under different conditions. To evaluate the inhibitory ability of different anti collapse treatments on shale mud water conversion, and to select suitable treatment agents for different formations and compositions of shale, in order to control and weaken the hydration expansion of shale and prevent possible accidents such as dam collapse and drilling blockage.

This instrument mainly measures the expansion amount and expansion rate of shale samples soaked in treatment solution, and can make correct judgments in the following aspects to obtain practical conclusions.

1. Debugging of the same type of shale samples under different treatment agent solution immersion conditions to determine the ability of the treatment agent to inhibit hydration expansion, in order to select the most effective shale hydration expansion agent.

2. For the same type of shale samples, adjust them under different concentrations of the same treatment agent, and determine the optimal concentration and ratio while meeting the requirements for use.

3. Under the same treatment conditions, the expansion amount and expansion law of different shale samples were measured. After multiple cross tests, the experimental results determined the program and law of shale affected by various treatment agents, which can be used for research on shale classification.
